Young Eleven FC won the 2008 Xmas Cup League Cup after they defeated SFC with 2-0 in the final

SKW bows out at group stage after winning against Shangete Eleven (Blue Boys) 2-1, Germania 2-0 and loosing to Young Eleven FC (Eleven Arrows) 0-2. SKW did not advance to the semi final due to the fact that all teams ended at six points in group B, the goal difference saw Blue Boys advancing to the semis having a single goal more than the SKW side. SKW played with their youngsters of whom 16 year old Mirko von Leipzig and Shaun Kamatuka made a good impression, 3 old boys (Vincent Molzahn, Lesley Kakuva and Rolf Beiter) and the premier league players Ralph Ellinger, Günter von Hundelshausen, Barnes Lisaku and Sven Wiedenroth. NPL Coach Richard Starke coached the team during his short holiday visit to the coastal town Swakopmund.  

Young Eleven FC won the 2008 Xmas Cup League Cup after they defeated SFC with 2-0 in the final played in Swakopmund at the SFC grounds. Wycliff Martin's boys kept their cool and defeated Swakop-mund Football Club (SFC) with 2-0 in the final and became the latest cup holders in the 20 plus years history of the illustrious compe-tition. Young Eleven FC striker Germain Mwambwa surprised the SFC goalkeeper Gernot Spath twice and scored the winning goals for the Walvis Bay based Erongo Second Division foot-ball outfit. En route to the final of the League Cup competition Young Eleven FC defeated the defending champions Celtic FC with 2-1 in the one semifinal-match. Willibard Angula and Jeremaine Kanalelo sco-red for Young Eleven. Marshal Coetzee scored for Celtic FC. Swakop-mund Football Club defeated Blue Boys FC with 2-1. Boys FC with 2-1. Giggs United FC made it three in a row after they successfully defended their title and won the 2008 edition of the Xmas Cup Social League again. Giggs FC defeated Dream Team FC with 3-1 in a penalty shootout in the final. The score stood at 0-0 after full time. Giggs United defeated SKW II with 4-1. Luciano Simp-son scored three goals and Ballak Somseb added the fourth. Dream Team FC defeated Stellenbosch Kickers FC with 2-0. Tollo De Wee and Brandon goals. Eight teams competed in the League Section and eight teams competed in the Social Section of the competition.
